Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes acceptable and prohibited uses of FlaskTrack. This policy is intended to protect customers, laboratories, researchers, employees, infrastructure, and the integrity of the FlaskTrack platform.

By using FlaskTrack, you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy, the Terms of Service, and all applicable laws and regulations.

1. Authorized Use

FlaskTrack is intended for laboratory operations, biological research, compliance management, inventory management, protocol execution, workflow tracking, reporting, and related scientific or operational activities.

Customers may use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with applicable regulations, institutional requirements, and organizational policies.

2. Account Security

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts and credentials.

Users must:

  • Use strong passwords
  • Maintain account confidentiality
  • Protect API credentials
  • Restrict access to authorized personnel
  • Promptly report suspected compromise

Credentials may not be shared with individuals who are not authorized users of the organization.

3. Prohibited Activities

Activities that threaten platform security, customer confidentiality, or service availability are prohibited.

Users may not:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Submit false identity information
  • Use the platform for deceptive practices
  • Attempt to conceal abusive activity
  • Circumvent platform restrictions

4. Security & Infrastructure Abuse

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Unauthorized access attempts
  • Privilege escalation attempts
  • Credential harvesting
  • Password cracking
  • Vulnerability exploitation
  • Network scanning without authorization
  • Denial of service attacks
  • Distributed denial of service attacks
  • Malware distribution
  • Ransomware activity
  • Cryptocurrency mining
  • Interference with platform operations

Security testing may only be performed with prior written authorization from FlaskTrack.

5. Laboratory & Research Content

Customers remain solely responsible for the information they upload or manage within the platform.

Users may not upload content that:

  • Violates intellectual property rights
  • Violates export control laws
  • Violates sanctions regulations
  • Contains unlawful material
  • Contains malicious software
  • Violates privacy rights

Customers are responsible for ensuring that laboratory information, research data, and uploaded files are lawfully collected and maintained.

6. AI Features

FlaskTrack may provide AI-assisted functionality for workflow generation, document analysis, knowledge retrieval, or other operational tasks.

Users may not:

  • Use AI features to generate unlawful content
  • Attempt to abuse platform AI resources
  • Circumvent platform restrictions
  • Use AI features for automated attacks
  • Use AI features to violate third-party rights
Customer data is not used to train artificial intelligence models.

7. Intellectual Property

Users must respect the intellectual property rights of others.

Content uploaded to FlaskTrack must not infringe:

  • Copyrights
  • Patents
  • Trade secrets
  • Trademarks
  • Contractual confidentiality obligations

Customers retain ownership of their own data and remain responsible for ensuring they possess necessary rights to uploaded content.

8. Excessive Resource Usage

Customers may not intentionally use the platform in a manner that creates unreasonable strain on shared infrastructure.

Examples include:

  • Excessive automated requests
  • Abusive API traffic
  • Intentional service degradation
  • Storage abuse
  • Circumvention of usage limits

FlaskTrack may implement rate limits, storage limits, or other controls to maintain service quality.

9. Investigation & Enforcement

FlaskTrack reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of this policy.

Actions may include:

  • Review of audit records
  • Temporary access restrictions
  • Account suspension
  • Account termination
  • Removal of prohibited content
  • Cooperation with legal authorities where required

Enforcement actions may occur without advance notice where necessary to protect platform security, customers, or infrastructure.

10. Reporting Abuse

Suspected abuse, security concerns, policy violations, or unlawful activity may be reported to:
